What I handle on your behalf
From gathering your income and expenses to submitting the final return to HMRC, I take care of the whole process for you.
Self Assessment Tax Return Preparation and Filing
I prepare and file your self assessment return with HMRC, working through your income from self-employment, PAYE, rental or dividends. Every allowable expense is reviewed so nothing is left on the table. You tell me what you earned and spent, and I do the rest.
Core serviceTax Planning and Allowances Review
Before I file, I look at whether your current setup is tax-efficient. That means checking you are claiming correctly for things like use of home, mileage, equipment and professional costs. If there are straightforward adjustments worth making, I will tell you in plain English.
Included as standardMaking Tax Digital (MTD) Compliance and Cloud Setup
MTD for Income Tax is being phased in from April 2026 for sole traders and landlords with qualifying income above certain thresholds. I can tell you whether you are affected, when your obligations kick in, and set up the right cloud software so you are ready without a last-minute rush. I work with QuickBooks, FreeAgent, Xero and Sage.

These are the practical differences that matter when you hand over your tax return to someone else.
You always speak to the person doing your accounts
There are no junior staff at Anchor Accounts and Books. When you call or message, you speak to me directly. That means you get a straight answer rather than waiting for someone to pass a message along.
A fixed fee with no invoice surprises
You know what you are paying before we start. There are no hourly rates, no hidden extras for follow-up questions, and no retrospective charges if your return takes longer than expected. One fee, agreed upfront.
Fast answers when you actually need them
I aim to respond the same day. If you get a letter from HMRC, or you are not sure whether something is deductible, you do not have to wait days to find out. That kind of access matters most when tax season gets stressful.
How it works
Four straightforward steps from first contact to a filed return.
Book a free call
We have a short, no-obligation call so I can understand your situation. You tell me roughly what your income looks like, and I confirm what I will need from you. No jargon, no sales pitch.
Send me your figures
I give you a clear list of exactly what to send. Bank statements, invoices, expense records, P60s. You do not need everything to be perfectly organised. Send what you have and I will ask if anything is missing.
I prepare your return
I work through your income and expenses, apply the correct allowances and prepare a draft return for you to review. I flag anything worth your attention in plain language before you approve it.
Filed and confirmed
Once you are happy, I submit the return to HMRC and send you written confirmation. You will know exactly what you owe, when it is due and what to do next. That is the full job done.
