WHAT I DO

What I handle on your behalf

From annual accounts through to monthly bookkeeping and tax planning, I take care of the numbers so you can get on with the work.

01

Accounts and Tax Returns

I prepare and file your annual accounts and tax returns accurately and on time, whether you are a sole trader or a limited company. Every return is reviewed and submitted by me personally. You will always know what you owe and when, well before any deadline.

02

VAT Returns and MTD Compliance

I handle your VAT returns and Making Tax Digital submissions each quarter, using cloud accounting software that fits how you already work. If you have recently crossed the VAT threshold or need to switch software, I will walk you through the whole process in plain English. No jargon, no confusion.

03

Bookkeeping and Payroll

Monthly or quarterly bookkeeping keeps your records clean and your figures up to date throughout the year. If you have employees or pay yourself a salary, I handle payroll processing alongside everything else. One person, one point of contact, everything covered.

WHY IT WORKS

Why clients come back every year

Small business owners stay because the service is personal, the pricing is clear and nothing ever slips.

You deal with one person, every time

I run Anchor Accounts and Books entirely on my own. That means every email, every call and every piece of work comes directly through me. There are no junior staff, no account managers and no risk of your file landing with someone who does not know your situation.

Fixed fees, no unexpected bills

Before we start, you know exactly what my fee is. It does not change mid-year and there are no charges for a quick question by email. Many Cannock businesses come to me after being caught out by hourly-rate surprises at their previous firm.

Fast answers when you need them

I aim to respond the same day, every day. If you get a letter from HMRC or need to know whether a purchase is tax deductible before you commit, you will get a straight answer quickly. Three in five small business owners say dealing with HMRC has increased their workload. Having a qualified accountant on call removes that burden.

GETTING STARTED

How it works

Four straightforward steps from your first message to everything being filed and sorted.

01

Book a free call

Use the contact page to request a free introductory call at a time that suits you. There is no obligation and no sales pitch. I just want to understand your situation before suggesting anything.

02

I review your situation

On the call I will ask about your business, your current set-up and what you actually need. If you have outstanding returns or messy records, that is fine. I have helped plenty of people get back on track from worse starting points.

03

You receive a fixed quote

After the call I will send you a clear, fixed-fee proposal. No hourly rates, no vague estimates. You will know exactly what the service costs before you commit to anything.

04

I take it from there

Once you are on board, I handle your accounts personally throughout the year. You get same-day responses, plain-English updates and every deadline filed on time.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Common questions

No. I work fully remotely with clients across the UK. Cannock and the surrounding Staffordshire area are well within my client base, but location does not limit us. Everything runs via phone, email and cloud accounting software at times that suit you.
Not at all. Most people who come to me for the first time have records that need sorting out. I will tell you honestly what needs doing and work through it with you at a pace that makes sense. There is no judgment involved.
My fees are fixed and agreed upfront, so there are no surprises. The exact figure depends on your business type and the services you need. The free call is the right place to discuss this properly, and I will send you a written quote before you decide anything.
I am a QuickBooks ProAdvisor and FreeAgent Partner, and I am proficient in Xero and Sage as well. If you already use a package, I will work with it where I can. If you need setting up from scratch, I will recommend the right option for your business and handle the setup.
