Is your limited company set up correctly as a contractor?

Answer five quick questions and get a clear, personalised next step based on where you are right now.

WHAT I DO

What I handle on your behalf

From your annual accounts to monthly payroll, I take care of the compliance side of your limited company so nothing gets missed.

01

Limited Company Accounts and Corporation Tax

I prepare your annual statutory accounts and Corporation Tax return (CT600) and file both with Companies House and HMRC on your behalf. You get a clear summary of what you owe, when, and why. No surprises, no missed deadlines.

02

VAT Returns and Making Tax Digital

I handle your quarterly VAT returns and submit them through MTD-compatible software, so you stay compliant with HMRC’s digital requirements. I will set you up on QuickBooks, FreeAgent, Xero or Sage depending on what suits you. You do not need to know how any of it works — I will walk you through it.

03

Contractor Payroll and Tax-Efficient Planning

I run your monthly director payroll and help you structure your salary and dividends in a way that is tax-efficient and IR35-aware. This is not a set-and-forget calculation — I review it with you so you understand what you are taking and why. Getting this right from the start saves money and avoids awkward conversations with HMRC later.

WHY IT WORKS

Why clients come back every year

Most contractors who find Anchor stay with Anchor — because the service is personal, the fees are fixed, and nothing falls through the cracks.

You deal with me directly, every time

There are no junior staff at Anchor. No handoffs, no getting passed around, no repeating yourself. I handle your accounts personally, and I pick up your messages the same day. If you have a question at 5pm on a Friday, I am the one who replies.

Fixed fees with no hidden extras

You know what you pay before you sign anything. I do not charge separately for every email or phone call. The fee covers the work, the communication and the relationship — not just the filing.

Plain English, no condescension

I explain what I am doing and why, in terms that actually make sense. If you do not understand something, ask me. There are no stupid questions here. Most contractors I work with are experts in their own field — they just need someone to handle this part without making them feel out of their depth.

GETTING STARTED

How it works

Getting started takes one conversation — everything else I take care of from there.

01

Book a free call

We have a short, no-obligation call where I find out about your contract, your company setup and what you currently have in place. No preparation needed on your end — just tell me where you are right now.

02

I review your situation

After the call, I give you a clear picture of what needs doing, what is already fine, and what your fixed monthly fee would be. If you have been doing things yourself and something is not quite right, I will tell you honestly and explain how we fix it.

03

We get your records in order

I set you up on cloud accounting software and take over your bookkeeping, payroll and VAT from that point. If there is a backlog to work through, I handle it. Send me your bank statements and I will do the rest.

04

Ongoing support, year-round

From that point on, I manage your deadlines, file your returns and answer your questions throughout the year. You focus on your contracts. I keep HMRC happy and your finances on track.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Common questions

Contractor accounting has specific wrinkles that a general accountant may not be across — particularly around IR35 status, director salary and dividend strategy, and how HMRC treats personal service companies. I work with contractors regularly, so I know the questions to ask and the issues to watch for. A generalist may not flag the things that matter most to your situation.
IR35 is HMRC’s legislation designed to catch contractors who operate like employees through their own limited company. If your contract is deemed inside IR35, you pay tax differently — closer to PAYE rates. I can help you understand your current position, look at your contracts in context, and structure things in a way that reflects your genuine working arrangements.
Possibly not, but it depends on what has been filed and when. The most common issues I see are missed VAT registrations, late Corporation Tax, and incorrect dividend records. If you are worried, the right move is to have a conversation early rather than let anything sit. I have helped contractors untangle more than a couple of years of DIY records — and I will not make you feel bad for it.
The fee covers your annual accounts, Corporation Tax return, quarterly VAT returns, monthly director payroll, self assessment tax return and ongoing support from me throughout the year. I also help with salary and dividend planning as part of the service. Everything is discussed upfront so you know exactly what you are getting before you commit.
